Our Story

HONEY CHILE is an independent media and production company built with Black women 40+—or Honeys, as we call ourselves—at the center.

We create stories, content, and experiences that reflect the fullness of our lives: our joy, ambition, messiness, pleasure, reinvention, relationships, power, and possibility. Across film, television, audio, digital, editorial, and live experiences, we make work that helps Honeys feel seen, understood, entertained, and inspired to live bigger, bolder, and freer.

Founded by writer, producer, director, and showrunner Felicia Pride, HONEY CHILE was born from a simple belief: Black women don't become less interesting after 40. Our stories are just getting good.

So we're building the kind of media company we want to see in the world—one that knows Honeys are not a niche to overlook, but a powerful audience to serve, celebrate, and build with.

OUR MISSION

To illuminate the lives, power and influence of Black women 40+ through stories, media and experiences—and help Honeys live freer.

WHY HONEYS

Black women 40+ are one of the most influential—and underserved—cultural audiences in America. They shape culture, drive households and communities, build businesses, create, spend, lead, and redefine what it means to come of age. Yet too often, media and brands treat 40 as a cultural cutoff rather than a beginning. HONEY CHILE exists to change that—creating the stories, experiences, and opportunities this powerful generation of Black women deserves.

OUR FOUNDER

Felicia Pride is a writer, producer, director, and founder whose nearly twenty-five-year career in media and entertainment has been devoted to telling resonant stories of the often overlooked, building creative worlds, and finding meaningful ways to connect those stories with audiences.

She is currently the Creator, Showrunner, and Executive Producer of the highly anticipated A Different World sequel, premiering on Netflix in September.
